Public Service career-seekers:
This scholarship fund named after retired Chula Vista Fire Captain Roger Haley, is awarded to aspiring EMTs, paramedics, nurses and firefighters, who demonstrate a commitment to achieving their goal of becoming a public servant. Local high school and college students pursuing an education in healthcare or public safety are eligible to apply for this one-time scholarship award.
Important TIPS
Please take your time while filling out the application – make sure each question has either the requested information or “N/A” if the question does not apply to you. You’ll also need to upload a PDF of your transcripts with classes and grades!
It’s a good idea to review and either print or write down the questions, then compose and proof everything on a separate document prior to completing the application! When you’re ready to apply, you can copy/paste your answers to make it fast and easy – and upload your transcripts via our portal.

Applications are accepted year-round, however the application window closes on June 15. The Chula Vista Firefighter’s Foundation Board of Directors will then determine scholarship winners for the upcoming school year.
Recipients will be notified of their application status by August 15.
