Project Warmth was an idea brought to us by a caring member of our community, Rose O’Dell-Castillo. She and others creatively craft these cozy blankets by cutting and tying fleece together. We loved the idea! The CVFF purchases the material, along with scissors and other necessary supplies needed to make blankets for those in need.
We have a growing team of volunteers from our community who make, these “no-sew blankets.” Each year, half the blankets made are donated to Community Through Hope in Chula Vista. The other half are provided to the CVFF Adopt A Family Holiday Program, benefiting the neediest families in our community. Extra blankets will be carried on fire engines for firefighters to hand out to those who need a little comfort and warmth.
There are never too many blankets! The CVFF welcomes anyone who wishes to join us and volunteer their time in making these heartfelt creations! Contact us if interested.
