Serving Our Community with Compassion

Help When It’s Needed Most

Our Purpose

The Chula Vista Firefighter’s Foundation (CVFF) is a benevolent charity that believes in “service before self” as a guiding principle.  Since 2004, it has provided citizens of Chula Vista and the surrounding areas with humanitarian aid, financial support, general assistance, education, community programs, and guidance in fire suppression careers.  The CVFF Board of Directors is comprised of firefighters and local business leaders that meet year-round to plan fundraisers, organize events, and allocate donations.  Because the CVFF operates as an all-volunteer organization, all funding received goes directly to community benefit to increase the number of people that can be helped.

Our Mission

To provide disaster relief during times of crisis, bring awareness to best fire and water safety practices, and improve the quality of life through comprehensive programming.

Thank you for supporting the important work of the Chula Vista Firefighter’s Foundation.

May is National Drowning Prevention Month!

Drowning is a leading cause of death among children ages 1-4, and the second leading cause of accidental death for children under 14. One of the most effective ways to prevent drowning is to teach children how to swim. Always keep the pool area safe and secure to prevent children from accessing the pool area, and assign an adult Water Watcher when children are in the pool.

We’re Always On Call

Sammy is Saved

From people to animals, the CVFF has compassion for everyone! That includes Sammy, a family dog who disappeared from his home.

His worried family heard sounds coming from a drainage pipe near their home, and called the Fire Department for help. Fire, Police, and Public Works responded to rescue Sammy from an 18-inch underground pipe. A firefighter descended into the pipe through a manhole cover (see photo).

Sammy was reunited with his family and was finally safe and sound thanks to our local firefighters.

Christmas In October 2024

Christmas In October has made – and will continue to make – a difference for many lives. Join us on Sunday, October 27 for a true feel-good event!

More than Presents

Every year, the CVFF adopts local pre-selected families during the holidays. We know children love toys, but often times, these families need basic necessities and have no means to purchase them. They need socks and shoes, coats, blankets, and so much more. The Foundation purchases items on each family member’s “wish list,” along with anything else we heard they may need.

Thanks to our community partners, we make the holidays a little brighter.
